An important festival of opera and ballet art "Winter Nights" was organized at the theatre. The program consisited of the most famous masterpieces of classical theatre art: "The Nutcracker", ""Rigoletto", "The Swan Lake", "Mister X", "Don Quichot", etc. Leading parts in all ballets and operas were performed by guest stars form the Bolshoi Theatre and abroad, as well as by leading performers of the Sapaev Theatre and its art director Konstantin Ivanov himself! Winter Nights, a theatre festival in Yoshkar-Ola, marked by the participation of the leading actors from the Bolshoi Theatre, has become traditional for the cultural life of the Republic of Mari El. Performances of his troupe are looked forward to both in Russia and abroad. His friends, opera and ballet stars from different countries, are now frequent and welcome guests in Yoshkar-Ola, with crowds of admirers always waiting for them.
